Yeon ‘yellowduck’ Choi is a painter, writer, theatre maker, and traveler from South Korea.
She communicates and shares experiences gathered over more than a decade of nomadic life around the world. As a keen observer of everyday scenes, she collects and recreates moments that are essential to understand her evolving identity. With crisp and vibrant colour and texture of watercolour pencils - her main medium - her figurative works reflect a fusion of personal narrative, emotions and cultural exploration.
Yeon’s artistic practice is influenced by her travels and immigrant life that is between the familiar and the foreign, the transient and the enduring.
She earned her MFA degree in theatre design in New York university, Tisch School of The Arts and is now currently based in 's-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands.
